FAQ

Q: I had a license in the state of Indiana but I let it expire in 2001. Do I have to retake the training or can I just appear for the state certification exam? Please let me know as soon as possible because I need to get back to work as soon as possible.
A: Since your license has lapsed for over 5 years, you will need to retake the training at an Indiana state accredited 105 hour training program and then upon successful completion, appear for the certification exam.

If my certification expired in the last 3 years do I have to take everything all over?

No, you will most likely be asked to do the test again and not the training.

I’m 19 and have a felony for possession of controlled substance (hydrocodone) without a prescription, could I get my CNA license? I’m not an addict or anything, I just hurt my back and instead of going to the doctor I got some vicodin from a friend and unfortunately got caught.

Let me get this straight, I am a CNA and my license will be up for renewal 3/11/15. I have Homecare experience but I don’t have any Asst. Living or Nursing Home care experience where I can take some in-service’s. My question is… do I need to be employed by either of the facilities and therefore do my in-service’s. Is there anything else I could do?

I used to be a CNA in Florida but I moved to Indiana, got married, and was working in dialysis, so I didn’t bother to transfer my license. I think it expired about 4 months ago. Can I just retake the test? I currently work full time and will be starting nursing school in January, so I’ll be unable to attend class in the meantime.
