CNA Training in Texas

There are many CNA Training programs available in Texas to train certified nursing assistants.  If you are planning to become a CNA in Texas, NATCEP is an abbreviation you will learn to recognize.  NATCEP refers to Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Programs that are approved by the state of Texas.  All approved nursing assistant programs in Texas are created by the Department of Aging and Disability Services in Texas.  There are many Nursing Assistant training facilities in Texas.  The programs are designed to each student the necessary skills to provide basic care services for patients in continuing care communities and home health settings. Read school reviews below.

All CNA programs in Texas must contain at least 75 training hours.  Some of these hours will include classroom studies, laboratory instruction and clinical training.  Programs can be offered on a part-time for on a full-time basis.  Training programs can be completed within a matter of weeks and are typically very affordable.  Of course, the exact length of courses and the cost will vary from training center to training center.  Some employers will pay for individuals to receive their nursing assistant training and then work for that facility.  Individuals who complete a CNA training program must pass the certification exam before receiving certification.

The CNA course offered through this college lasts for nine weeks.  Students will be able to take the certification exam upon completion of their studies.  The class includes 80 hours of instruction.  There will be classroom studies as well as hands on training at a nursing care facility.  Students will learn what they need to work successfully as home health aides or patient care technicians.  Call 903-434-8100 for further details on the course.

Angelina College

The Angelina College offers a nurse aide long term care training course.  Those who complete this course will be able to obtain entry level nursing assistant training.  Those who complete the course will also be able to sit for the state certification exam.  The college will only accept 20 students at a time for this nursing assistant training course.  You can learn more about the program by contacting the General Phone Number at 936-639-1301.

Southwest Texas Junior College

The Southwest Texas Junior College offers a certified nursing assistant training course.  Individuals need to have CPR training, a TB test and a background check before taking the course.  Students will learn the skills they need to become a certified nursing assistant.  The course will include a 59 hour Nurse Aide Health Care course.  Students will learn to provide basic care to residents in healthcare facilities.       Melody, Sorry for the delayed response. If you are still looking for a place to receive CNA training in Bell County, I highly suggest talking to all nursing facilities in your area. Upon a quick search I am picking up over 10 nursing homes in the area. While I do not have specific information about these places it would be beneficial to give them a call and ask if they offer training.
