CNA Training in West Virginia

You cannot work as a certified nursing assistant in West Virginia without completing a CNA training program that has been approved by the state.  You must also pass the competency exam for nursing assistants in order to receive certification.  The federal law says that CNAs must train for at least 16 hours in a clinical setting (at a Medicare or Medicaid Certified facility).  Many states require even more training than that.  West Virginia requires state approved training courses to include 55 hours of clinical training.  This is more clinical training time than required by many states.  West Virginia has a high level of standards for their nursing assistants to ensure patients receive great care. Read school reviews below.

It is important to realize that any nursing aide training that does not require clinical training will not allow you to receive your certification.  If you take online courses that do not include clinical instruction, you will not be able to work as a certified nursing assistant.  A nursing aide without certification is very limited in the duties they perform and they are not even able to work in many healthcare settings.  It is important to ensure that you find a training program that meets all federal guidelines for nursing assistant training and certification.

No Nancy, a lot of programs do not require either of the two to get enrolled.
