Is there an age limit in PA for CNA work? My niece passed her CNA certs and was ‘hired’ at a facility and then told she had to be 18 to work a lift. This does not make sense since she worked a lift to pass her test? thanks

    • Admin August 31, 2010 at 10:46 pm #

It depends on the facility. Due to the stress level of the work, some facilities requires their CNA’s to be above 18.

My CNA certification just expired 8/14/2010, how can I be re-certified without taking the classes again?

    • Admin October 7, 2010 at 10:31 pm #

      Hi Daphne,
Provided you completed your CEU and working requirements for the last two years, you should easily be able to renew your application. Check out http://cnatraininghelp.com/cna-certification/ and see the specific renewal instructions for your state by clicking on the links in the right navigation bar.

Would a misdemeanor conviction of harrassment 9 years ago prevent me from being eligible to be licensed as a CNA?

    • Admin September 21, 2010 at 10:52 am #

Hi Colette, It really depends on the state you’re applying in. Why don’t you call up the nursing board in your state and see what they say. You can check out the nurse aide registries by state

I work for a hospital and they only offer tuition reimbursment, but my funds are tight being a single mother and I can’t afford to pay for the classes up front. Do you have any suggestions for free or very low cost CNA classes in Columbia, SC? I already checked with the red cross and they don’t offer the classes and the local One Stop is based on the amount of money you make and I am not eligible, but most of my money that is brought in is sent right back out for bills. Any suggestions you could offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

      Hi sarah,
Have you checked out our free CNA training page? We have a specific one for the state of South Carolina.

I’ma certified nursing assistant in florida planning to move to gurnee Illinois how do I get cerified for Illinois Can’t find a job in Florida due to hireing freezes

    • Admin September 21, 2010 at 10:30 am #

You can get in touch with the Illinois nursing board and send them your current certification. If you’ve worked for a certain amount of hours (as per regulation) you should have no problem in getting certification in Illinois via reciprocity

Hi, my husband just got out of the military and his benefits are not acceptiable to me, I am a stay at home mother of three. I’m not working at this time and I am also looking and have always wanted to work in the medical field. Due to no income I am in GREAT need of infromation on free CNA classes near Arkansas City KS, 67005. thank you

    • Admin October 21, 2010 at 10:20 pm #

      Hi Charissa,
Your best bet is to look at nursing homes in your area of Arkansas that have open vacancies for CNA’s. Usually, they’ll hire you before certification and then pay for your training as long as you agree to work for them for a long period after.

can anybody help me find any free cna traning in springfield mass thanks :)

      Hi Vanessa,
      - Try looking for nursing homes near you with active CNA vacances. Usually, they’d be willing to pay for your training if you agree to work for them for a longer period.
      - The Job Corps offers free CNA classes in massachusetts. Lookup their locations in Massachusetts here: http://www.recruiting.jobcorps.gov/en/centerlocations.aspx?statename=ma

Hi, I was wondering if I had to retake the CNA class to get certified in MS. I have taken the class here in Arkansas and am in the process of moving back to MS. I have my certificate stating the hours I took during the class and passed the class part. However, I have not as of yet become certified. I was going to retake the exam here in AK but since I am having to move back to MS I decided to wait and try to get certified in MS.

    • Admin October 24, 2010 at 2:08 pm #

      Hi,
Since you haven’t been certified in AK, you will not have the option of apply for transfer through reciprocity.
I belive you will have to take the training in MS. You can however contact the Nursing board in MS for clarification.
