They are going to have free classes for qualified candidates starting on the 16th of April 2012. You need to have a GED or high school diploma. To qualify, you need to prepare the following:
– 2 letters of recommendation from people not related to you.
– A Letter that explains why the nursing home should hire you. (We believe this is a very important part of their selection process so make sure you write something really good that explains why you’d want to work as a CNA there and why you’d be an asset to their team)
– Note that if you do not end up completing their free program, as in if you quit in the middle without valid reason you will have to pay $1000 for the program. This is fair since they will invest time and money in training you and wouldn’t want you to leave halfway because you weren’t interested or something.
– A Completed application. You can download the form from www.jhe.org (then click on the job posting link)

Costs for Nurse aide training in CT are on the higher side compared to other states. Most places charge almost $2,000 for the classes. Wallingford is one of a minority that charge just $875 which is very reasonable. The classes run for around 16 weeks and are extremely thorough. Classes in other states hardly cross 4 weeks. A: That’s a very young age to be taking care of your parents! You’re extremely mature for your age. You should ideally be in high school which is one of the easiest places to get free training from. Speak to your school counselor and see if your school offers evening vocational classes. If it does you might be eligible for free training since high school seniors almost always are. If this isn’t an option for you, the best lace is to visit nursing homes near you. The only problem though is that most are reluctant to hire under 18’s so you might get trained but won’t be able to work as easily till you’re 18. Best of luck!
