Free CNA Training in Mississippi

You can work in a rewarding career providing basic care services for patients and residents of healthcare facilities.  If you work as a CNA, you will assist patients with activities of daily living and help to answer their call bells and monitor vital signs.  You must attend a state approved training program and pass the examination for certification before becoming a CNA.  We’ve compiled a list of free training options below:

Nursing homes and geriatric care facilities in Mississippi frequently offer free cna training.  Not all places offer training but those who do often offer tuition free classes for individuals who will then work for the facility.  This is a good way to receive free training if you do not mind working for the facility for several months to a year (in most cases).  You can gain the training and experience you need for a continued career as a certified nursing assistant.

If you work in a geriatric care facility or nursing home in some other position in Mississippi, you might be able to receive free cna training.  Talk to your employer to let them know that you are interested in changing jobs.  Discuss your interest in training to become a certified nursing assistant.  If you have been a good worker with a compassionate personality, the employer might be willing to pay for your training for a new career.

There are programs available to help you train for a new career.  It is often possible to receive training assistance if you are out of work or have a very low income.

  17. Christopher Huggins August 26, 2014 at 7:40 pm #

My name is Christopher Huggins. On December 19 2003 I was admitted into the University of Mississippi Medical Center here in Jackson, MS’s ICU because of a four wheeler accident. I was in ICU for a week and a half before being transferred to the Children’s Hospital where I stayed for another six and a half weeks. I have since then graduated high school, gotten married, and have realized what I’m destined to do. I want to give back to the hospital and staff who, without them, I would not be here today. I want to be a nurse and be able to take care of the children at the Children’s Hospital. Unfortunately I cannot go back to school as of yet due to a delinquent student loan from my past. I am trying to get a sponsor for the CNA training at the least and sponsoring for Nursing School at the most. Any help or advice would be most appreciated.
