CNA Training in Maryland

The state of Maryland offers further education opportunities for individuals who already hold a nursing assistant certification.  This is something to keep in mind if you are giving some thought to a career as a nursing assistant or are already working in this field.  Maryland is actually one of the few states offered advanced CNA career opportunities.  Maryland introduced the Skilled CNA program in 2004 and it has been seeing success.  This program allows nursing assistants to advance their career and to have a more specialized are of practice when working as a nursing assistant.  Most nursing assistants in Maryland earn about $25,000 per year.  CNAs who receive Skilled training can earn a higher income. Read training center reviews below.

You cannot enroll in a Skilled CNA course until you receive your nursing assistant certification and work as a CNA for a minimum of one year.  Since skilled CNA programs are only offered at licensed nursing homes and long-term care facilities, you will need to work in one of these locations to qualify for enrollment in a skilled training program.  You will attend a program offered at your current place of employment.  Upon completion of this course, you will need to take a Skilled CNA certification test.  It is inexpensive to receive your advanced training and to take the competency exam.
