CNA Training in Missouri

There are a couple things you must do if you want to obtain employment as a CNA in Missouri.  The first thing you will need to do is to become certified.  You can do this by completing a fully accredited nursing assistant training course.  After you complete that course, you will need to pass the certification exam.  It is then important to make sure you are listed on the Nurse Aide Registry for the state of Missouri. Read school reviews below.

One of the best nursing assist programs in Missouri is found at the Boonslick Technical Education Center.  This training program is affordable at a rate of less than $400 for tuition.  This course is open to individuals who are 18 years of age or older.

You must work for at least one day (for pay) as a nursing assistant every two years if you do not want your nursing assistant certification to become inactive.  If you do not receive pay for work as a nursing assistant for five years in a row, your certification will become expired.  It takes you some time to renew your certification if it lapses.  You will need to attend a CNA training program again and to pass the CNA certification exam.  Make certain to keep your certification active at all times. The nursing assistant program at Metropolitan has one of the highest number of clinical hours in the whole of Missouri. The total number of hours is 175 of which 100 are spent on clinical sessions. The cost of the program is $965 and classes are held five times a year. They also have a refresher course for those who have to brush up on their training due to an expiry of their license. This costs $432. Admission to the refresher course requires a letter from the Missouri Dept of Health and it includes 100 hours of clinicals with 16 spent in the classroom. If for some reason you are unable to complete the nursing aide course, you can enroll in a “test out” course that costs $100 and allows you to touch up on the classes you missed without having to repeat the whole course again.

Ozarks have two types of CNA classes. One is the normal classroom + Clinical sessions course that costs $1399. The other type is a hybrid of classroom and online classes coupled with clinical sessions costing $1499. The hybrid class is especially appealing to people who are working somewhere or live far away from the college premises. To enroll in either of the two courses you will need to have a letter from your physician confirming that you are free from any contagious diseases. You will also need to undergo a criminal background test and provide proof of immunizations.
