If you wish to start a career as a certified nursing assistant in Ohio, you will need to attend one of the hundreds of training programs approved by the state. There are so many CNA training programs that it is quite possible to find some potential free training options.
1) You might be eligible to receive free training if you are currently unemployed, a displaced homemaker or receiving state or community assistance benefits. Many organizations and programs that are intended to help individuals who are unemployed or underemployed will pay for training to help you start a new career. It might be possible to receive training for free to become a certified nursing assistant.
2) Contact your local job placement agencies, unemployment offices, adult education department or welfare office if you are looking for free training. Express your interest to improve your income by starting a new career. These agencies should be able to help you locate any programs that could help you to cover the cost of training to become a certified nursing assistant.
3) Adult care centers, nursing care facilities and long-term care facilities often offer nursing assistant training programs. These programs are often offered for individuals who have been hired to work as CNAs but who need to receive training and complete certification first. If you do not mind working for the same employer for a few months or so, this option is one to consider for free training. Typically, you will agree to work for the employer and in exchange receive your training.

Low Cost Training Programs
Premier Choice Health Services
1901 E Dublin Granville Rd-Ste 201-Columbus, OH 43229
Premier Choice Health Services offers a nursing assistant training course with tuition pricing that is competitive with other training centers in the area. As such, the course provides students with a good value for their money. Unlike some other schools, Premier Choice allows students to supply their own scrubs if they are dark blue instead of making them have this added purchase through the school. An evening class is available for those people who work during the day or are caring for their young children in the daytime hours while a spouse works. Students mentioned that instructors often tell you what you will need to read for your next class and will give you an idea of the materials you will cover when you meet for class again. The teaching staff is said to have an in depth understanding of the materials they are teaching.
Students are able to learn well because the material is being taught well and in depth while still being presented in a way that is easy to understand and easy to apply to when students actually begin applying skills and later working with people rather than practice mannequins. Celeste, in particular, is one of the teachers for which people have good things to say about. A lot of material is being covered during each class. The class can get long but Celeste is said to be interesting to learn from and she seems to be able to keep people’s attention. Students say they learn a lot from her but she makes it fun and enjoyable to be in class even with you are there a long time and learning so many new concepts in a single day.
Premier Choice Health Services has mannequins that students can use to practice nursing assistant skills they learn. They can practice properly moving a patient in their bed, properly helping to dress and bathe a patient and any number of duties a nursing assistant will carry out throughout their work day. There is equipment students will use to in order to help them know how to use the nursing assistant equipment at a hospital or long term care community. Some former students note that this training course is extra helpful for those who want to work in a nursing home setting. The class provides some in depth knowledge of working with the elder population to provide patient and compassionate care. Students learn to take excellent care of their patients and to keep their patients doing as well as they can during each of their shifts once they become employed as a nursing assistant.
