Many opportunities exist to train as a certified nursing assistant in Wyoming. In order to be able to sit for the certification exam, you need to take a course that has been approved by the state. Some programs will be offered at colleges and others will be offered in health care facilities. There are often opportunities to receive financial assistance. We have compiled them below:
Healthcare employers often pay for an individual to receive their nursing assistant certification. They might hire someone who they feel would make a good fit as a CNA and then pay for their training. The individuals will be told how long they must work for the employer at a minimum to receive the free cna training. In other cases, an employer will offer to pay for CNA training for a current employee who has expressed an interest in changing jobs or careers.
If you do not qualify for an employer to pay for your training directly, you might still receive reimbursement for your tuition. Most Medicare and Medicaid certified nursing facilities must reimburse new hires for their CNA training. This is usually accurate as long as the individual was trained within the past year or less. Sometimes a facility might be able to reimburse only a portion of the training tuition if an individual has held their certification for 6 months or more before receiving a job offer.
It is not uncommon to find community based programs to help you pay for training. You can sometimes receive free cna training by winning scholarships or being awarded grants for your training. This is certainly something to consider if you are motivated to start a new career but have no way to access the funds to pay for your training.
