Free CNA Training in Nebraska

Before you become a CNA in Nebraska, it will be necessary to complete a state approved training course with classroom, lab and practical instruction.  Most nursing assistant programs are offered in long-term care facilities, community colleges and even some high school. There are many ways to get free training, as you’ll find below. Otherwise, most training is still very affordable if you are looking to work as a nursing assistant.

You can search for free  training through long-term care facilities in your area.  These facilities are usually on the lookout for individuals who would make great CNAs.  They are willing to hire individuals to work as CNAs and will pay for the training in order for those people to receive certification.  You must realize that you will be locked into working for the facility for an agreed on amount of time if you receive free training.

If you have already received your nursing assistant certification, you should retain all receipts associated with your training.  It is often possible to receive reimbursement for your training as long as you are hired within a year of receiving your certification.  This is especially true if you are hired to work for a facility that is Medicare or Medicaid certified.

Some high schools offer nursing assistant training for students in the career option.  This is something to consider if you are still in high school and interested in a career as a certified nursing assistant.  If you are attending a public high school, then you will receive your training for free.

Wherever you attend a CNA training program, you should ask about financial aid and scholarships options.  There are steps you can take to try to obtain free cna training in Nebraska.  You just might find that you do qualify for the help that you need.
