My cousin is a CNA and she lives in arizona and has a license there and was wondering what she would have to do to get a CNA job in ohio. Would she be able to jus transfer her license to ohio or would she have to take classes?

    • Admin June 20, 2011 at 2:46 pm #

She’d need to contact the Ohio NA registry and get her license transferred from Arizona.

    To whom it may concern

    Hello

My name is Salome Mgaloblishvili, I’m 22 years old from Georgia Tbilisi, I’m the sixth grade student of Georgian Government Medical University faculty of medicine. Next year I’ll have finished my bachelor studying and wish to take CNA, can you tell me is it possible for foreign student to take courses in USA, pass that test and take certificate. If it is possible can you send college web site where i can take this courses and other important details.

    Thank you in forward
    sincerely Salome

      Hi Salome,
You would need to have a valid Visa which allows you to study in the Unites states. I’m not sure a CNA training provider would be able to give a student visa. You will need to contact colleges directly and see what they say.

wondering if CPR and FIRST AID training, counts as CEUs in ohio.
I have been unable to get any answers
I am working as a HHA because of scheduling issues of home life..but i want to keep my STNA

    • Admin June 30, 2011 at 8:49 pm #

      Hi Christy,
They may be valid topics.. but you need to get your CEU’s from an authorized provider of continuing education. If the place where you took the training is accredited than you’ll be able to claim those hours as valid CEU’s

if you have acess to a blood pressure cuff you can practice on anyone.  The important thing is documentation, even when your just practicing  for example , my bp is 120/68  this  within normal values for blood pressure .My wt is 156 lbs you would have to convert it into kilograms.      weight(wt) this is out of my book hopefully this will help you.  156lbs wt  divided by 2.2 = 70.90 kgkg then to convert kg to lbs you multiply by 2.2 .
normal values for blood pressure(bp)*Child 10 years 100/65*Adloescent 16 years- adult 118/75 systolic less than120diastolic less than 80*Prehypertenison  120-139/80-89*High blood pressure Above 140/90

Hi, I have to renew my license in California. It is 48 credits, 24 of which I have taken online. My other 24 looks like they need to be supervised. I work as an independent contractor in a private home. Any ideas on how I can get my supervised hours in?

    • Admin July 27, 2011 at 8:10 pm #

Hi Monica, the only way would be to work under the supervision of a nurse. You could do that if you had temporary employment in a nursing home or hospital.

i was wondering if you knew of free cna training in the Campbellsville,Kentucky area. I know of the Elizabethtown and Lousiville area but those schools are to far for me to travel. I took a cna class back in 2003 or 2004 in the Campbellsville area and it was free of charge, the course was about 4-6 weeks long the teacher was great and i learned alot. I just can’t seem to find it on the internet. The school was called Campbellsville L.Y.N.C. Any type of help from you would be great thanks so much.

ive been on this site for 2 hours and still having trouble finding anything out… Im looking for training in the medical field but without having to do more schooling, any ideas?? Cleveland tn area. Thanks

    • Admin October 5, 2011 at 3:44 pm #

      Hi Synthia,
We only provide information on free CNA training. We have detailed a host of ways you can get free training to become a nursing assistant, both on the state specific pages as well as the more generalized page over at http://cnatraininghelp.com/free-cna-training/
Having prior schooling such as a GED isn’t always necessary.
