CNA Training in Michigan

If you are planning a career as a certified nursing assistant in the state of Michigan, you will need to attend a state approved CNA program and then pass a CNA certification exam.  Your training is not done when you become a certified nursing assistant.  Each year, you will be required to complete 12 continuing education credits.  These credits are often available during in-service sessions provided by your employer.  Continuing education is intended to keep you up to date on your training as a nursing assistant and to ensure you are always ready to provide the highest level of care to your patients. Read school reviews below.

You will need to work at least eight hours every two years (as a certified nursing assistant) in order to keep your certification active.  If you allow your certification to lapse, you will need to complete a CNA training course again and to retake the certification exam.  Work as a CNA is often considered an entry level healthcare position with an average income of $23,000 per year.  However, many CNAs work their way up to making as much as $31,000 per year.  This is especially true of CNAs with several years experience and CNAs who continuing working for the same employer for a few years or more.

DRM offers a two week CNA class held mostly during College breaks so as to allow many students to participate. The cost of the program is $1324 and includes the CPR certification from BLS. Aside from the basic nurse aide classes, DRM also has an advanced CNA course called the CNAPlus program. It teaches already certified nurse aides additional responsibilities such as restorative care, medication administration, Alzheimer and dementia care. The purpose of the CNAplus program is to give graduates an edge over basic CNA’s when they are looking for jobs in  nursing care facilities.

Walker Medical offers an 80 hour nursing aide course. They have classes on different campuses costing roughly $800 to $1200 which does not include fees for the exam, textbook and blood pressure machine. You have to purchase them externally.     Not everyone lives in the big cities of michigan. I don’t live even remotely close the areas that were listed in the search results for cna training in michigan. Do you ever have access to and publish listings from the central michigan area or most especially from the thumb area of michigan?
