CNA Training in New Mexico

Are you moving to the state of New Mexico and already hold a nursing assistant certification?  If you wish to work as a CNA in the state of New Mexico, you will need to apply for reciprocity of your nursing assistant certification.  This is a process in which you will apply for the state of New Mexico to accept your CNA credentials from another state without requiring you to complete a new nursing assistant training course or to take the nursing assistant certification exam again.  You will not be able to work as a certified nursing assistant in New Mexico until you submit your application for reciprocity and until it is approved.

It is usually not too difficult to have your application to have your certification accepted in New Mexico.  The certifying body for nursing assistants in New Mexico will verify that you are registered by checking with the Nurse Aide Registry in your state of certification.  They will make certain that you have not had any charges against you for misuse of patient property, abuse or neglect.  If you have a clean record and your certification is able to be verified, you will be well on your way to working as a CNA in New Mexico.
