DMACC Certified nursing Aide Program – Carroll Campus

The nurse aide program at DMACC is a state certified 75 hour course that teaches you everything you need to know to be a successful assistant to a nurse in a nursing care facility or hospital. Since July 2010, Iowa has enforced new regulations that require you to submit your immunization certificate, flu vaccine documents and pass a criminal background check to be eligible for entering the program. DMACC also has an advanced program for graduates of the basic course which teaches you emergency tech, EKG tech, surgery tech and OB tech that helps you understand everything required to be a competent nurse aide in any department of a hospital. It is highly recommended that you complete the advanced program as well(75 extra hours) to be able to maximize your chances of getting a well paid job. The tuition fees for either of the two programs is just under $400 for Iowa residents and around $700 for out of state students.

Western Iowa Tech has a four credit hour course. The theory part of the course has 3 credits while the clinical part has a single credit.
