CNA Training in Mississippi

You must complete a CNA training course and pass the CNA certification exam before working as a certified nursing assistant in Mississippi.  The state of Mississippi does allow individuals who were certified as a CNA in another state to apply for reciprocity in order to work in Mississippi.  However, it is not uncommon for these applications to be denied by the state of Mississippi.  If your application for reciprocity is denied, you will need to take the CNA certification exam again. Read school reviews below.

If you do not already hold your CNA certification, you will need to complete a nursing aide training course and then pass the certification exam.  Anyone who takes the nursing assistant competency exam, must pass both the written and skills testing sections of the exam.  Some states allow individuals to retake the test more than once.  However, Mississippi will require you to take a new training course if you fail the certification exam.  You will need to retake a training course and exam if you have allowed your certification to lapse as well.  It is necessary to attend a state approved training course.  The average salary for nursing assistants is a bit lower in Mississippi (about $19,000) than many other states.
