Free CNA Training in North Dakota

If you want to train to become a CNA in North Dakota, you will need to attend one of the 50+ training programs that have been approved by the Division of Health Facilities.  There are more than 10,000 active CNAs in the state.  Training programs can cost as little as $350 and there are even some ways to search for free cna training as you’ll find below:

You might currently be working in a healthcare facility in a position that does not require certification.  If your employer realizes that you are a talented and motivated employee, they might offer you the opportunity to become a certified nursing assistant.  In fact, they might even be willing to cover the entire cost of your CNA training.

Free CNA training is usually available in some nursing care facilities.  These facilities need well trained nursing assistants.  They will hire qualified candidates to work as CNAs upon completion of their training.  The employer will require that the individual work for a specific amount of time for the facility in exchange for the free nursing assistant training program.  This provides you with a great way to access training and then to gain experience in your new career.

If you are currently unemployed and have an interest in becoming a certified nursing assistant, you should contact the unemployment office and any other agencies that are intended to help you find employment.  It is often possible to receive financial assistance to train for a new career.  You can receive grants and scholarships to help cover the cost of your nursing assistant training.

Workforce Investment Act
The WIA was set up to provide grants to those people who have been unemployed for a long period and are finding it difficult to get  suitable employment. Many Training centers in ND are approved to provide training as part of the act. You can visit a community college in ND or a training center and ask them to help you get the grant for NA training. They will direct you to a workforce office in your area who will review your income status/unemployment record and qualify you to receive training funds.

You should contact the Division of Health Facilities if you are struggling to find affordable or free cna options in your local area.  They will be able to tell you if any of the programs they have approved offer free nursing assistant training.  In addition, they should be able to provide you with information on potential scholarships, grants and other financial assistance that could help you receive free cna training.
